In October 2022, I drew a Halloween themed six panel comic about a Little Demon who participated in the ritual of Harvesting Light for the first time. It felt more an illustrated short story, really.

Lately, I’ve been trying to think a way to fit my comics and stories to the digital world a bit better. My thinking is very much rooted to the idea of printed comics. For digital reading, there are several alternatives to the basic two-page-spread layout, some of which may be superior especially when trying to read the story on a small mobile device screen. I was introduced to visual novels last autumn and wanted to try making one. A visual novel engine Ren’Py provided an easy start, as I have some experience with coding.

And here we are. My very first visual novel is now published on itch.io and you can read it there for free. Working on this project, I realised I’ve got two other stories on the drawing board that would be perfect as visual novels. Those’ll be far in the future, but I can’t wait to start!
